Back in Havana...

In the bank, there is a "system". You go to the place where everyone waits and you say: "Who is last?" then one person says something of lifts their hand, or some other way of indicating. It's not an exact science...but when Markus does it, it's very funny...:) Our time in Vinales was very good. We met a very nice family who took care of us, fed us very good cafe and the fruits of Vinales are very juicy! Marta explains: Ultimo -(the next one) Qu'en es ultimo (who is next?)

19 November. We see Dario, Armando and Aquacate Calle. It is like returning home to a family that loves us as well as annoys us.

I dropped my phone through the seat on our last bus trip, so that's gone forever. We are slowly growing tired of this trip. Markus is sick today and I have bug bites all down the backs of my arms that are very sore, red + itchy. We are down at the bottom of the rabbit hole...the hands exchange the bills in the dark, around the corner, quietly amid hushes...

We pay $8CUC ($10CAD) to see the Museo de la Revolucion. "Operation Truth", "Homeland or Death". Biboa Bar - at the corner of OReilly 454. There are deals being done 10 feet away and inside the bar, a safe haven of music and cleanliness. It's great, lots of jersey's in the ceiling, a clean bar made of wood and bottles. 2015 in Havana means tattoos and cellphones, artwork and making the propina. But the past still exists; the parents of the daughters of the revolution are making the business now. They own homes and make business with the touristas. They don't speak much English, but their children will and with each passing year the diffusion will happen among the people, the lose of music, of words, of songs...The traditions of the past will be replaced by everything that makes $...The consistency of a modern world and messages in a bottle from overseas.
